The anti-β-tubulin antibody is developed using a peptide that derives from the β-tubulin of many animal species, including humans. The antibody is antigen-specific affinity purified and conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP). It can be used for detection of beta-tubulin in western blots.

The antibody specifically recognizes human β-tubulin protein as a single band from the whole cell lysate. It also recoginizes other animal species' β-tublins that contain the same peptide.

Alpha and beta tubulin represent the main subunits of eukaryotic microtubules. They are highly conserved proteins so they are frequently used as loading controls during immunoblotting.
